@Sameer K  He's right. They display correctly in 27.4 (beta)

But I was unable to make them display correctly in 27.2

Hey, @46153082. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I'll help you figure this out. Please share the system information by following these steps: 1. Open Photoshop Help > System Info. 2. Copy and paste the information into a text document. 3. Upload and attach the document here.

Does this happen with the default brushes, or just the custom brush presets that are in the screenshot? Please try toggling the panel options to include the Brush Tip and additional Brush Info. Also, try resizing the previews from the bottom of the Brushes Panel.

Please make sure you back up the brush groups by exporting them as ABR files before going further.

Go to the location of the preference folder below and rename it to backup.

  • Windows 10/11: Users/[user name]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop [version]/Adobe Photoshop [version] Settings
  • You can press Press the Windows key > Enter 'Run' > Enter %APPDATA%\Adobe
  • Rename the Adobe Photoshop folder by adding a .old at the end. (Adobe Photoshop 2026/Beta > Rename > Adobe Photoshop 2026/Beta. old), You can restore these preferences later if needed.(https://adobe.ly/4860qM9)
  • Restart the computer.

These changes will provide a fresh start to Photoshop, much like a new installation. Let me know how it goes.

Thanks!

Sameer K

@Sameer K Thank you so much for the replies! This issue happened with both default brushes and custom brushes. I was able to temporarily resolve this problem by resizing it with my stylus; however, whenever I tried to resize it using my mouse or open the program again. It resets back to how it look like on pic2.
