Question

Photoshop brushes keep disappearing in CC?

I unfortunately lost the ability to use CS6 after upgrading to OS 12.3 (Monterey) on my mac as it's not compatible. Over the years I've collected a lot of brushes made from other artists, which I then uploaded to CC when I had to switch. For some reason they keep disappearing if the application is closed, even when I've saved and imported them myself. I tried looking on here for other solutions and tried to go to edit > presets > preset manager, but only "tools" and "contours" show up. Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this?

Hi!

I am wondiering if you are puting your brushes into the right folder? Are you on a Mac or PC? Here is a post that will give you the path to the presets folder where you can import your bruses. Try this and let us know if it fixes the problem.

This did not work for me. I know how to import the brushes thru the brushes panel. An action I was trying to use required the brushes be loaded as a preset. As Sarah said above, my preset manager only had Contours and Tools. How do I get the brushes and patterns back?

Yes the ones I was able to import were abr. A lot of my others were tpl sadly.

I just went in and didn't see the Presets folder when I'd go the [username] / Library / .... etc route, but I looked at Applications / Photoshop CC / Presets / Brushes there and uploaded them to that one. Hopefully that should help.
