Photoshop, Camera RAW and CR3 files

I just installed Adobe DNG Converter but still can't open Canon CR3 files on my new iMac. Camera Raw and Photoshop are the latest versions because I have a Creative Cloud subscription.

Correct answer BDI guy

I think the problem may have solved itself. Probably to do with Apple protocoals rather than Adobe, or Canon.

Thanks for helping.

If you use File>Open from within Photoshop do you still get that message?

You should certainly be able to open the cr3 files from the Canon RP without having to use the DNG Converter, since it's been supported since Camera Raw 11.2.1 and you have Camera Raw 17.4.1

Is there any message when you try to open the cr3 files into Photoshop?

Apple could not verify that CR3 is free of malware that may harm your Mac or compromise your privacy.

Option of "Done" or "Move to Bin".

Maybe it's an Apple issue rather than Adobe or Canon?

Which Canon camera do you have?

If in Photoshop you go to Photoshop 2025>About Plugins>Camera Raw, what version does it say?

Canon RP (mirrorless).

Canon Raw is  17.4.1 (latest)
