Photoshop CC 2019 super slow

Hello guys,

since I have uploaded Photoshop from 2018 to 2019 I'm experiencing a super slow and laggy workspace.

I have never had this problem in 2018 version and I'm pretty upset to find this in 2019, it's so annoying that I can't even scale up or down a small image (like 2000x1000). I think I will go back to 2018...

I'm running a gtx 1070 (drivers 416.34), i7 6900k, 32gb of ram, samsung 970 pro ssd.

I am getting sooooo tired of all this updates. Every time again we have the same situation over and over again. If it is not something like this it is some individual that decides some method we have been used to for years needs to change. Can you imagine a painter that has a workshop with all his favorite tools and every week or someone sneaks into his shop and replaces stuff, brushes, paint or other tools because they think it is better that way? Or tells him he needs to use his tools in a different way. I am getting sick of it and it even has come to the point I'm thinking about installing pirated copies so I can remain using the version of whatever software that just works for me and can be sure it will work for years if neccesary

I can't see how this madness is in anyones advantage?

Yes, I have the same problem! it takes at least 15 minutes to release its loading to working cursor.

Its really annoying and there no way to report this. very bad improvements.

I gave up on Photoshop. I was on the transition to Affinity Photo anyway.

I'm rolling back to 2018 (Mac Pro 5,1 maxed out, nVidia Titan X). BRUTAL.

I'm on the latest version of Photoshop CC 2019 and the printer dialogue waiting times are ABYSMAL!!!

I think I'll revert back to my (cracked!) CS5 version! (Joking, but not surprised there's so much piracy since Adobe put the block on reverting to anything earlier than CC 2017.

I'm currently checking out Affinity, which is beginning to look far superior in many ways, including the PRICE!

Are you using an AMD GPU  ?

There was an issue with some AMD drivers that led to long print dialogue delays in Photoshop. I switched to NVidia, but the attached gives details of working drivers with AMD

Thanks Dave, but no, I have an Nvidia card running on an Intel Win7 machine.

Photoshop has been running ok, but the last couple of days it seems to be taking ages to enter the printer properties, or to print even simple designs.

Oke, JJMark. I Understand. it is more of a frustration output. But I have similar experience as many users wrote here as well. Not showing the text you're typing, only after pressing enter. Scale an image/layer up/down, the image-corners handels does not follow the mouse. Only after about 2 seconds the transformed image snaps into place. Moving the PSD in the workspace or rotating the workspace does not feel snappy. everything comes wit a great delay.

Running on Mojave, 10.14.1

96 GB internal memory

3,46 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon

Video: Radeon RX 580 8192 MB

Adobe Photoshop version 20.0.04

No plugins

Many have Problem with CC 2019 20.0.4. Myself included Photoshop new composition seems to have problems with some machines configurations.  Make sure you have the latest Device Driver available for your display adapter installed.  Also try checking Use Legacy Compositing in your Photoshop Preferences Performance section.

WOW. Photoshop team. What have you done. Never had experience such a slow and sluggy photoshop (CC 2019 version 20.0.4). 8 GB GPU card and 96 GB internal memory is not enough?

I have been having a wealth of issues myself with 2019.  it runs crazy slow, hangs constantly, crashes, tells me I dont have enough memory, and more.  I cannot find a fix for this anywhere!  Im going to go back to 2018 and cross my fingers.

Same for me. I have a complete new machine Mac Mini 2018 OS X Mojave, the fastest one available and fresh installed CC 2019.

Photoshop is slow slow slow.

I come straight from an old 2010 Mac and Photoshop CS4 – the same files there to work on, no problem! But on new machine with Photoshop CC 2019, Work is nearly impossible, IT IS SOO SLAGGISHLY SLOW when painting or copy stamping, and aynthing else.

Hi guys, I was struggling with extremely slow photoshop since cc 2019 update although I have quite a good iMac. Accidentally I found a possible fix which worked form me like a charm making photoshop fast again - go Type > Font Preview Size > select None and restart photoshop. And that's it

Cheers!

Hello, Sorry to hear that, what version of Photoshop are you running?

Check in help>system info... and post the contents here, so that we can see if you have anything peculiar in your setup that slows down things.

Do state if you are running anything particular on your machine
