Photoshop CC 2019 super slow

Hello guys,

since I have uploaded Photoshop from 2018 to 2019 I'm experiencing a super slow and laggy workspace.

I have never had this problem in 2018 version and I'm pretty upset to find this in 2019, it's so annoying that I can't even scale up or down a small image (like 2000x1000). I think I will go back to 2018...

I'm running a gtx 1070 (drivers 416.34), i7 6900k, 32gb of ram, samsung 970 pro ssd.

As Muqqarib said,  checking Legacy Compositing helps immensely.  It was lagging big time for me,  but clicking that fixed it

Yeah it's pretty bad, I also went back to 2018.

Can you try this for me, create a new document, say 1000x1000px 300ppi sRGB 8bit, then Filter/Render/Lighting Effects and just click OK. In v2019 this always crashed for me while v2018 is OK.

Startup is slow in 2019, so is openings documents, etc...

2019 felt like it always tried to catch up, also very sluggish when compositing.

I really hope that this problem is resolved soon.  Simply trying to zoom in and out of the document forces a freeze up and then I must sit and wait until it catches up...sometimes never catching up and the only solution is to minimize photoshop to taskbar which seems to snap it back into action and move on.......  but simple tasks..like creating a new layer, erasing a mark, zooming in and out.....all take incredible amounts of time, cause freeze ups and force quits.  I have checked min requirements, adjusted ram to 85% in preferences and yet this problem continues.   this is not cool and I have now lost 2 days of work due to these issues and anticipate more lost time as I cant seem to get things working smoothly again no matter what I do.   these problems all started with the update so I doubt very much that the update inst responsible

I don't even get that far, just opening a psd file takes 10 minutes or more, I have given up and reverted back to Photoshop cc 2018. Adobe, get your stuff together and fix this!

Yep, me too. This has been the state of my Photoshop 2019 for over SEVEN MINUTES now:

To be clear...I'm trying to perform the complex task of STARTING A NEW DOCUMENT. Suffice it to say, this upgrade is complete trash.

Update: I finally had to force quit the program via the Apple menu, because Photoshop itself didn't seem to think there was anything wrong with just sitting there doing absolutely nothing, and therefore didn't offer a "force quit" option from the dock. Lovely!

I'm going back to the previous version and STAYING THERE. Thanks, Adobe.

I have similar problems. Photoshop 20 is extremly slow and all the time it runs out of RAM. I did not have this problem with the previous edition. I am also very upset. Time is money and we users have to trust that there are propper running updates!

I can't even work like this its so freaking slow!   No changes that they have made are worth this slow workspace, like its absolutely impossible to work like this!

What is happening? This software is UNUSEABLE!!!

I'm trying to follow the steps listed in the first answer.

Just turned off one radio button in prefs and saved … had to wait 17 minutes before the prefs window closed just to find out it made absolutely no difference!

Can I revert to 2018 version CAN SOMEONE HELP QUICKLY?
