I still have this issue, if anyone knows a fix please let me know. I need it for a Photoshop specific, cel animation task.

  • Bridge is not installed
  • Have run Photoshop without plugins
  • Have reset Photoshops preferences
  • Turned graphics processor off under performance
  • Premiere and After Effects Installed
  • Signed out and back in to creative cloud
  • Purged video Cache
  • Updated Photoshop and Media Encoder

Hey @Anshul_Saini Thanks for the detailed reply!

I tried launching it without plugins and the keychain method and neither worked. The Media Core one did fix it though! Thank you so much! You really can’t make this up, I think I’ve now tried *every* method there is before landing on the one that would eventually fix it. 😅

Again, thanks a lot for the help!

    Hi @TJ Motion,

Thanks for reaching out and listing everything you’ve already tried. You’ve covered many of the common troubleshooting steps, including resetting preferences, disabling the GPU, running without plugins, signing out/in, purging the video cache, and updating Photoshop and Media Encoder.

I found a few additional solutions reported by other users that are different from the steps you’ve already tried.

First, if you’re on macOS, please check the system-wide Adobe MediaCore folder:
    /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0/MediaCore

This is different from Photoshop’s normal plug-in loading. Several users reported that a third-party plugin installed in this shared MediaCore folder was preventing Photoshop from initializing video export. One commonly reported example was an Insta360Importer.bundle.

Please don’t delete anything yet. If you find third-party plugins there, move them temporarily to a backup folder outside the Adobe directory, restart the computer, and test File > Export > Render Video again.

You can also try Photoshop’s plug-in safe launch:

    1. Quit Photoshop.

    2. Hold Shift while launching Photoshop.

    3. When prompted, choose Skip Loading Optional and Third-Party Plug-ins.

    4. Test Render Video again.

If you’re using macOS and the issue persists, another workaround reported by multiple users is to quit all Adobe applications, open Keychain Access, and remove the relevant Adobe entries from your login keychain. Photoshop will ask you to sign in again afterward. I’d keep this as a later step because it affects your Adobe sign-in credentials.

Also, before testing, please make sure all other Adobe applications are completely closed, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Media Encoder, and Creative Cloud, and then launch Photoshop. Since Bridge isn’t installed on your system, we can rule out that particular cause.

If none of these make a difference, please let us know:

    • Your OS and version
    • Photoshop version
    • Whether Render Video works in a new blank document with a very simple timeline
    • Whether Export > Render Video gets stuck immediately at “Initializing Video Export” or progresses and then stops

That will help us determine whether we’re dealing with a shared MediaCore/plugin issue, an Adobe authentication/component issue, or something specific to the current video-export pipeline.

    Best,
