Photoshop crashes on enterprise VPN or company Wi-FI

Hi Everyone,

At our company we experience the following issue: when a windows user would like to use Adobe Photoshop on VPN or on company Wi-Fi (behing proxies), after 30-60 seconds the app crashes. (Error report has been attached.)

I experienced the issue on my device with the version 26.11 or 27.1.0 (Adobe Photoshop), but when I installed an older one (25.1) everything was fine. If I disconnect (with 26.11 / 27.1.0) from VPN or company Wi-Fi and I am using my personal hotspot / home Wi-Fi, Photoshop is working fine.

(We had the same issue with InDesign, but after I have updated from 20.51 to 21.0.2, InDesign is working on VPN/company Wi-Fi. I suspect that the InDesing issue was due to this bug: 'InDesign freezes when connected with the Enterprise VPN.' https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601180/suggestions/50450502 which was fixed in the 21.0. version.)

At the company we use Cisco Secure Connection VPN and Windows Security app. Unfortunately we aren't allowed to disable/modify antivirus / firewall settings.  MAC users aren't affected.

My system ( but my colleagues experience it with other DEll or Lenovo machines):

Device : Dell Precision 3581

GPU : NVIDIA RTX 500 (drivers are updated)

OS : Windows 11 Pro 64 bits

Adobe Photoshop Version: 27.1.0

Creative Cloud : 6.8.0.821

Could you please help in this?

Hi @gabor_3188, welcome to the community!
Sometimes firewalls or VPNs can block Adobe services, so you might need to whitelist URLs like .adobe.com and .firefly.adobe.com.
You can find more details here: https://adobe.ly/4rPpcKz
Thanks a lot!

Hi @Aleke ,

I understand you, but if the issue is in our network / proxy settings, it would cause problems for MAC users also (they use the same network), but they definitely not experience it. I think it would be great to check whether Photoshop has the same bug as InDesgin had, or hasn't.

Thanks,

Gabor

Hey, @gabor_3188. Thanks for bringing this up. This does not point to a specific bug.

I've checked your account, and it appears to be associated with an enterprise. If the issue is widespread among other Windows users, troubleshooting and further diagnosis of the reported behavior must be carried out by the centralized IT or via an enterprise support ticket raised by the subscription Administrator.

The first step must begin with the network endpoints, as shared by @Aleke above. If that does not resolve the issue, crash reports can be generated and submitted to us. Follow the steps here: https://adobe.ly/3Y0h6RP;

Thanks!
