Photoshop crashes when choosing magic wand

karDEL, I had the same issue. Even go so far as to reformat the harddrive and start from scratch. Nothing worked. Then just by chance I disconnnected my 2 DVD drives... and now everything works. I'm not a technical specialist so I have no idea why having the 2 DVD drives would cause Photoshop to crash when selecting the magic wand???

Touch the wood, I haven't had this problem and I have much less RAM than you...

Actually it does that over some 3 or 4 Versions already.

It may be a glitch in this version of Photoshop. Have you tried to go back to the previous version?

Sadly, when I try choose object, it still crashes...
