Photoshop crashes when printing

Whenever I try to print, photoshop crashes. No error messages, it just closes.
I have uninstalled/reinstalled. I have removed any recenlty installed software (configuration program for a graphics tablet). And I have tried everything suggested in similar threads, the most recent being from back in 2023.

Printer drivers are up to date, and the printer works fine with all other applications tested. It's just Photoshop that has this problem.

Any suggestions? Thanks

Correct answer D Fosse

That means the printer driver is crashing. Uninstall-reinstall the printer driver.

(the yellow exclamation mark is just a reminder, not an error.)

I've been having the same issue.

I tried older versions of photoshop, still no joy.

Thanks to Deborah555 who nailed this I think, I repeat it in case it gets lost: I have a simnple fix that worked for me:

Go to the Printer Properties for your printer and  on the Advanced tab, look at the Driver. Mine was Microsoft IPP Class Driver.

I changed this top Brother Laser Type1 CLass Driver (for my Brother HL-L2350DW) and hit apply.

Finally, I then booted photoshop and held the space bar as I went File -> Print and all was sorted.

I am having the very same problem. I go to print in PS and it crashes. I have uninstalled and reinstalled drivers and it does not help. Tried holding down shift when printing.....nothing. I tried reset on quit and nothing. I even bought a new printer! This is a PS problem, not a printer problem. Not happy that Adobe has not fixed this immediately as it is causing much frustration.

@happytobenana

Actually it's holding down the spacebar to remove old print metadata, not hold shift.

You must do this as you click File > Print in Photoshop.

@KimmyZee

First of all, "same problem" very often turns out to be a different problem. Be specific.

But assuming it really is the same problem, have you done what fixed it for the original poster?

Shortly after installing the latest update to Adobe Photoshop, it will NOT print to my Brother network installed printers. It will print to my hard wired photo print printer, but it will NOT print to either of my regular Brother printers that are installed on my network. I have 2 computers in my office with Photoshop installed and they're both doing the exact same thing. I had my IT guy look at it today and he spent 2 hours trying to troubleshoot it, including reinstalling all of the Brother printer drivers. Its 100% doing the EXACT same thing that the OP has mentioned. I'm not happy at all! This is crippling my business.

Reset Photoshop prefs, reinstall printer/driver, and test printing to PDF. If PDF works, it’s a driver conflict — export and print outside Photoshop until Adobe patches.

@GSHastings

Did you try resetting the Print dialog by holding down Shift as you choose File menu > Print?

Yes.
And I selected Edit/Preferences/General/ "Reset Preferences On Quit".

And I uninstalled/reinstalled everything "Adobe" on my computer.

Problem still remain.
