Photoshop crashes when using Eyedropper Tool v26.6

Hello everyone! I started having a new problem with the v26.6 update of Photoshop. I am an illustrator, and when I am painting in Photoshop and choosing colors with the eyedropper, sometimes Photoshop crashes. Do you know why this happens, or is it just me? I have now reinstalled v26.5. I would be very grateful if you could help.

I am using a Mac Mini M4 base version and a Cintiq Pro 22.

Hi @yagokani! Welcome to the community! 😊

I'm sorry to hear the app has been crashing for you. Does this happen when using the eyedropper in specific areas? There have been recent issues when using the eyedropper to pick colors from outside Photoshop.

When your app crashes, have you received a crash report dialog and clicked on sending the report to Adobe? If so, could you please send me your Adobe ID (the email you used to sign up) through a DM so I can look for your crash reports in our system?

Thanks a lot!

Alek

Hi @yagokani!

Unfortunately, we couldn't find any crash reports from your account in our system. It's possible that you received an Apple Crash Report Dialog instead of the Adobe one, which sends crash reports to Apple. If you experience a crash again, please follow the steps here to send a crash report to us.

Since the crashes are random, it might be challenging for us to reproduce and investigate further. If you find a way to consistently trigger the crash when using the eyedropper tool, please let us know so we can test it ourselves. In the meantime, we can try resetting the Photoshop preferences, which often resolves miscellaneous issues. Just make sure to back up your preferences file, as this will reset your workspaces, brushes, and other settings. Here's how to do that: Reset Photoshop Preferences.

Thank you for your patience!

Alek
