Photoshop crashes within seconds of starting

Looks like this has been fixed in the just released photoshop 2024 (25.2) update?

[cursing removed] that fixed it. Thank you so much. You now have to explain what lead you to believe it was those two plugins, and what they are responsible for 🙂

@QINGCHARLES I would start by uninstalling both the beta and the public release including preferences (backup anything you need like brushes, etc). Then do a clean install of just the public release 25.1 and see if you still have issues.

I did have a larger scratch disk. I tried switching it to my 2TB drive too, but that didn't help.

I did reset my prefs. No joy there, either 😞

This started happening about half way through the beta for PS24. PS23 no problems. Early betas of PS24, no problem.

@QINGCHARLES that will work - ignoring the version number of PS, the system info pulls the same data.

Everything minus the GPU appears ok but you do have a smaller scratch disk than I prefer to see ~86GB.

It's enough to start up PS without issues, but if you are opening larger files or using memory intensive items like Generative Fill, etc. it can reduce quickly. Just starting up PS take up ~20 GB.

System Info taken from PS25 (beta). It is harder to get it from PS24 (release) because it won't stay open after the crash dialog appears, so I only get a few seconds to do anything. The info I got from PS25 was after the crash dialog appeared and I moved it to the side.

@QINGCHARLES this really sounds like a lack of resources issue. Your Intel 4600 is a big part, but also HD space, RAM, etc. all can cause crashes.

Newer versions of Photoshop require your GPU to support DirectX12 (feature level 12) and running Windows 22H2 (10.0.22621).

We can confirm once you drop your system info (if you can).
