Photoshop Creates 500GB of Temp Files ON OPENING

Hi everyone,

I have had this issue for a couple of months now with a recently acquired new computer. When I open Photoshop, it doesn't matter what disk I use, no matter how much space it has, photoshop fills it up instantly before I can even do anything. I can't even take a single action in the program without it telling me scratch disks are full. I've tried this one :
1TB SSD
500GB SSD
8 TB HDD
Every single disk gets filled instantly. Every once in a while, it will work fine without massive temp files - I've read so many different threads on here and the only thing anyone gets told is that their computer is the issue. They need more space, more RAM, etc - never a solution. On my old computer :
i7 13700
3050
64GB DDR4
Same drives
I never had an issue. On my new computer :
i7 14700
4070 TI Super
96 GB DDR5
This happens almost every time I run Photoshop. Please help.

Try to reset the preferences of Photoshop using the steps described here:

It's recommended to backup your settings before resetting the preferences.

The usual reason for this is that people set 1000 inches when they mean to set 1000 pixels.

Not saying you did that, just that it's the usual explanation. If you didn't, post the full Help > System Info from Photoshop. It contains disk and memory configuration and should provide a hint of what's going on.
