Photoshop CS5 won't open RAW files (.cr2) from Canon 1D X Mark II

Im running OS X 10.11.5 on my mac.  I can't open RAW files (.cr2) from my Canon 1D X Mark II in Photoshop CS5.  When I try it says... "Could not complete your request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw.  Please visit the Camera Raw help documentation for additional information."

I've looked through the forums and the answers to some quetsions, but haven't been able to find an answer that works.  I tried downloading the most updated versions of the Camera Raw plug-ins but nothing works.  I've tried many combinations of plug-in versions and also the Adobe DNG converter... still nothing.  The DNG converter won't even let me select the RAW files to convert.  Can you even convert files already on your computer or do you have to do it straight from the memory card?

Anyway, I need to open up my .cr2 (RAW) files in photoshop cs5, specifically from my Canon 1D X Mark II.  Please let me know how to make this happen.  Thanks!

Hi RajMehtaPhoto,

You need minimum camera raw plugin 9.5 for using raw date from Canon 1D X Mark II and Photoshop CS5 supports maximum camera plugin is 6.7, refer: Cameras supported by Adobe Camera Raw

However, you can  convert your Cr2 files to DNG by using the DNG converter and use it with Photoshop CS5.

Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter : For Macintosh : Adobe DNG Converter 9.6

Hope it helps.

Mohit

1D x Mark II requires ACR 9.5 So you need Photoshop CC or  Create DNG files for you CR2 files and Process the DNG RAW files with CS% ACR version.
