I just purchased a new computer with Windows 10 Home.   I have my CS6 Extended CD and get the message:  Adobe Photoshop CS6.exe Fatal Application     PID=4156,Wow64.cpp@483

So disappointing!    I have tried compatibility mode with windows 8 and 7, no luck.  I'm logged in as administrator.   If it is just incompatible.  Can anyone recommend a similar product?   I admin a couple of church websites.  Thanks-

Okay, I downloaded and installed both files.  It seemed to work fine until I got to the serial number.  It would not accept the original serial number off the cd sleeve (that I purchased for a lot of money off ebay).     This serial number worked for my windows 8 computer.  I went to adobe to see if I could deactivate or reactivate.   Contacted Adobe.  They said the number was non-genuine software.    I am using the 30 day trial, so I know the software runs on my computer.     If anyone knows how I can get this software to work and not have to subscribe.  Any help would be appreciated.   $10/month is annoying when I thought I was buying the permanent software.

    Oh dear,

it's to late now, but never buy software on Ebay as it's almost always pirated. What has happened is Adobe have blocked the serial number you have and you will not be able to use the software you have paid for. All I can say is I hope you didn't pay too much for the fake copy. Your only alternative now is a subscription to Creative Cloud.

Try Downloading the CS6 installer from Adobe Site and try installing from you disk.

Download Adobe Creative Suite 6 applications

I downloaded this, and tried it.  It asks what app to open with.  I removed the failed CD install, reinstalled, (same error message), tried opening the downloaded version with the one from the CD.  No luck.  Says this program cannot be installed.

:-(   (but thanks for your help)      I have posted on the HP site like you suggested on that other thread, maybe something will come from that..   So there is a way to turn off VMWare thinapp?

There are two files at the download link JJ gave you. The first is a *.7z file and the second is an *.exe. You must run the .exe file first as an administrator as that will unpack the .7z compressed file. I can't remember if it runs the CS6 installer automatically or not, but if it does not simply open the folder of the extracted *.7z file and find setup.exe and run that as an Administrator.
