Photoshop CS6 won't open all of a sudden

I've been running a stand alone version of Photoshop CS6 on my desktop Mac for years. In September 2019, I thought I'd upgrade to the Creative Cloud but partway through the Install, I cancelled and continued to use CS6 without problems. Then today, when I opened CS6, Application Manager opened and I got the window "Validating License Status online, this may take a few seconds" then a quick flash of another screen, then the spinning wheel box with a Creative Cloud header. This box has been spinning for 40 minutes and CS6 does not open. What's going on?

I have deleted all files I can find associated with the Creative Cloud, but no luck in getting CS6 to open.

Thanks for any insights!

Solution 2
Please delete the authentication information manually.

If you have Adobe products that are used in a version other than CS6, all of them will need to be recertified once with a serial number.

Please perform it with the serial number prepared beforehand.

1. Open the following folder.

・ 64-bit Windows:

C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Common Files \ Adobe \ SLCache

・ 32-bit Windows:

C: \ Program Files \ Common Files \ Adobe \ SLCache

・ Macintosh:

Macintosh HD / Library / Application Support / Adobe / SLCache

2. Please delete all the contents of the folder.

* Please do not delete the SLCache folder itself, only the contents.

3. Restart your PC once.

4. Start CS6 product and ask for login

Log in with a newly created AdobeID or an AdobeID that has never signed a Creative Cloud contract and authenticate with a serial number.
