Photoshop EPS shows as grey when imported in InDesign

Not all images I save out from PS as an EPS will import into InDesign as grey, but 

there are times that it does. Not sure what the issue is?

 

So I have artwork with text in PS 2025, save it out as EPS to retain the vector information

and then import the image into InDesign 2025. The image doesn't appear. What shows up

is a grey image.

 

Anyone?

Thanks for reaching out. To help troubleshoot, could you share a few more details?

  • Which exact Photoshop and InDesign versions you’re using (including build numbers)?

  • Version of macOS.

  • The color mode of your Photoshop file (RGB, CMYK, etc.).

  • The EPS export settings you’re using in Photoshop.

  • Does the issue still happen if you place the file as a PSD or PDF instead of EPS?

  • Does it happen with a specific file or multiple files? Can you share a sample file?

 

This info will help narrow down whether it’s a file format, color mode, or preview setting issue.

PS 26.8.1, ID 20.4.1, MacOS 15.6

Image is RGB, I am exporting to CMYK, US SWOP and keeping the vector information

This does not happen when I place as a PDF, TIF, I don't place PDF's

This only happens on occasion. Not all my files have this issue. Font's are loaded. Just not sure 

if it's a font issue.

I need this process because most of my files are built RGB with text in it and I need it for print, CMYK

and I would like to retain the vactor information.

Thanks for sharing these details. I’d recommend updating Photoshop to the latest version 26.9 and trying again. If the issue still occurs, please share a sample file with us where the problem can be reproduced — that will help us investigate further.
