photoshop freezes when opening a file

My sunday is starting to becoming a nightmare thanks to Photoshop, Yesterday all looked fine. Today i fired up photoshop, opened a file to continue my work and....... it froze the aplication. I had to end the task with task manager because it wouldnt close no matter what. i tried a few times and result is the same. So did what everyone does. Uninstalled it. rebooted the PC, intalled it again and...... same problem.

So i tried to troubleshoot it, open Photoshop, create a new file and save the file. all went well. now i tried to open this file and…. ti froxe the application AGAIN!

used the taks manager to end the task and started onece again, opened photoshop and closed photoshop. yep you guessed it, it didnt close, it frezeed!!!

Oh and when i opened a file saved on cloud, it opened with no issues. only with files on Desktop this is happening.

Im using the latest Photoshop version, on Windows 11 and my sunday is starting ti be one hell of a stressful day!

well, maybe someone smart enough can figure out this for me.
When i load Photoshop and imidatly close it, it works fine.

but if i let the image load , it immiduatly freezes . but it only freezes when i close it. if i let Photoshop load and then create a new file, everything goes well until i try to close PS. Because everytime i close it, it freezes.

the only moment it seems to not freeze is if i close it before the image load on the main screen

It sounds to me like you’re having a disk failure. Where are these files located, what type of drive/interface?

I have tried files from the cloud and from my pc’s desktop. Everything Adobe works, PS doent close when i open it,even without me doing anything with it. it freezes. i have to use the task manager to be able to close it. I have tried oppening a file after i open photoshop, and it freezes. if i open a file directly (whitout opening photoshop) it opens the file but everything is freezed, so i can edit it. if a open photoshop and create a new file an save on my desktop, everything goes well. then i try to close photoshop…. it freezes. If i open photoshop and i open this new file, it freezes.. The Clod files opens and saves on cloud whitout issues (adobe cloud i mean), the problem is whne i try to close PS, it freezes.

What I meant was - is this your system drive, or a drive physically located in your machine? It is not a network-connected or external drive?

Things are even worse for me: Lightroom and other programs open, but Photoshop doesn't open at all.

We're not seeing widespread reports about launch failures with Photoshop 27.10 at the moment. There have been a few issues in the past weeks though, such as: https://adobe.ly/4cvpHDR

Please share a video, or screenshots of the issue. Does this happen after a recent update of the operating system, and Photoshop?

Also, check if the issue appears in Photosho (beta) via the Creative Cloud desktop app.

ok, im trying to solve ONE simple thing before anythimg.

I open Photoshop, wait 3 seconds or so, then i close Photoshop. and it freezes. dosent close Photoshop no matter what i do. So i downloaded the Beta is shows the same Synthoms. i Open Photoshop Betam ehn i colose it but it freezes
