Photoshop freezes when using Alt with Pen

Question

In Photoshop, when I use the Pen Tool to create a curved point, the next point always gets affected by the previous handle, making the path bend. I know using Alt/Option can fix this, but it causes my Photoshop to freeze after a while. Is there another way to keep the first point curved but make the next point straight without being influenced by the handle? or fix freezing when using alt

Please go to the Help menu in Photoshop, then System Info, and copy the text. You can share the info with us by either pasting it as a reply here or in a text file and sharing the file with us.
