Photoshop Generative Expand Canvas Issue

Recently everytime I use generative expand to make the canvas bigger, it always leaves this thin strip only on the left hand side of the image as shown in the attached image. It isn't always a white strip, it'll be whatever color you choose your background to be in the toolbar. Any idea how to fix this? What i've been doing is making it larger than I need and then cropping it back down but that adds an extra step to my workflow.
