Photoshop Generative Fill no longer blends textures seamlessly in generative fill
I would like to raise a formal complaint regarding Adobe's decision to remove Firefly Image 3 from Photoshop's Generative Fill.
I'm a professional Creative Director and have relied on Generative Fill extensively as part of my daily workflow.
Previously, I could select an area between two different photographic textures, leave the prompt blank, and Photoshop would intelligently blend them together, creating incredibly realistic, seamless transitions while preserving the original textures, lighting and detail.
This functionality was exceptional, and it has now effectively disappeared.
I've tested all the replacement AI models currently available in Photoshop, and none comes remotely close to achieving the same results. They frequently invent completely different textures, produce unnatural transitions or fail to understand the surrounding imagery.
This has seriously disrupted my professional workflow and significantly reduced the usefulness of a product I pay for.
I find it astonishing that Adobe would remove such a valuable professional feature without providing anything that can replicate its capabilities.
I would like this complaint escalated directly to the Photoshop Generative AI product team.
Specifically, I would like to know:
-
Why was Firefly Image 3 removed when it performed this task so effectively?
-
Is Adobe aware that the replacement models are significantly worse at seamlessly blending existing textures?
-
Is there any way to restore the previous functionality?
-
Does Adobe intend to address this regression?
I'm not looking for generic troubleshooting advice or suggestions to try different models. I've already done that.
I would appreciate a substantive response from someone with knowledge of the product changes, along with a formal complaint reference number.
