Photoshop hangs

After assembling a new computer, photoshop started taking a long time to load some operations. Here are the specs of the new computer: ryzen 7 5700x, 16gb of RAM, rtx 4060. On the old one everything worked well despite the fact that it was worse. Other programs from Adobe work fine. I also heard that photoshop has problems because of multi-core processors from ryzen. Please help as it's not the first day I'm trying to find a solution

Correct answer Trevor.Dennis

Have a look through the Puget Systems tests of systems for Photoshop, and see if they have said anything about AMD hardware.

Otherwise, keep a close eye on the splash screen while loading Photoshop.  It shows what is happening like loading fonts, presets etc. and if it hangs at a particular moment, that might give you are clue as to what is happening.

Do you have any third party plugins installed?  If yes, hold dow the Shift key when launching Photoshop, which forces those plugins not to be loaded.

I'm not geting a lot of hits for Photoshop with your hardware, so it might not be unfixable.

"I also heard that photoshop has problems because of multi-core processors from ryzen."

I cannot confirm this, as I have been using Ryzen processors for a couple of years. In fact, almost every image and video editor in my inner circle uses Ryzen processors without any problems.
