Hey people. By this week, I tried to remove a background from an image that I downloaded from the internet, and the Photoshop starts "thinking", then a the program crashes.

I tried to run Photoshop as administrator, It worked well, but in a huge file, it crashes.

1. Program: Adobe Photoshop CC 2020
    Version: 21.0.2

2. OS: Windows 10
    OS Version: 20H2 - updated

3. Step 1: Paste a pic downloaded from the internet, to use on my project.
Step 2: Open the Properties Menu, on the right-side of the screen. Scroll down and find Quick Actions
Step 3: Tap "Remove Background" or the "Select Subject". Wait for the Photoshop recognize the background, and delete it.
Expected Result: Image without background, obviously not perfect.
Actual result: The program freezes and then crashes, losing all my work.

Any solutions?

Answering twice, sorry, but I found a LOG FILE of crash on my photoshop folder.
Says this:

Crashed thread: 124 [15176] THREAD_PRIORITY_NORMAL

Exception Code: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION
Exception Parameters: Access violation writing location 0x0000000000000000
Exception Message: 3221225477 A instrução no 0x%p referenciou a memória no 0x%p. A memória não pôde ser %s.
Translating the last one, it says that the instruction on "" referenced the memory on "". The memory cannot be read.

Hey, thanks for the answer 🙂
I tried many pics, specially from Freepik.com.
About disk space... it's sensitive. I have 1 SSD with 120gb of capacity, and an (old, really old, maybe pre-historic) HDD, 500Gb.
I uses the HDD to Photoshop Caches, because my SSD does not have enough free space.
At the moment, I have only 4gb of free space on my SSD, and the HDD, 54.4gb.

My photoshop works very well, no crashes. But when I tried to use these options, it goes down.
I Didn't update from 21.0.2 because of free disk space.

I didn't tried to reset my preferences, or do troubleshooting. Where can I do this?
About RAM Memory, I have two 8GB RAM on my pc. My GPU is integrated on the processor, so, it uses 2gb from RAM to dedicate to it.
I left 87% from my 14gb, look at the pic

Brief: Not an particular file itself, a lot of RAM avaiable, 50gb of free disk space... 😕😕
OBS: It started crashing last week.

I'm not seeing any submitted crash reports from you in our system. If you haven't done so already, please submit all Crash Reports along with your email address: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/submit-crash-reports.html That will help us diagnose the crash.

Hi @victor22899027t47x I see you don't have any replies yet, sorry about that. I did a test with a photo I downloaded from the Internet, and to select and remove under Quick Actions took about 30 seconds. Here is a screenshot of the file size and a screen recording (https://imgur.com/a/W16HhGp) showing how long it took.

I'm using PS v. 22.5.4 with Windows 10 Pro on an older system. The problem could be your memory allocation or disk space, or the particular file itself, unless PS is freezing with these actions no matter what image you select. Have you tested it with other images? Is PS working okay otherwise? Is there a reason you haven't updated past v. 21.0.2? Have you tried resetting your preferences or any other troubleshooting?

(I don't know why I can't upload a video file directly to this reply. I guess because this post is under bugs?)
