Try either of these two methods:

Method 1: 

1. Unlock the layer with the edge artifacts and select that layer 
2.Double click the mask for the layer concerned and choose ‘Open Select and Mask workspace’. If you don’t get that option you can set it in Preferences > Tools > Double Click layer mask launches Select and Mask Workspace.
3. Use the Shift Edge control (move it to the left) to remove the edge
4. Check that Output settings are set to output to layer Mask and click ‘OK’
That should be it, but if the revised mask appears on teh group, just drag it down over the previous mask to replace it.

Method 2 :

1. Disable the layer mask (right click and choose disable)
2. Right click the layer thumbnail (the layer not the mask) and choose Blending Options
3. Go down to the Blend If sliders and drag the white triangle in the top (current layer) slider to the left until the white is gone.
