Redbbwolf,

Are you running Photoshop under Rosetta for plugin or legacy extension compatibility?

Can you post a screenshot of what your seeing?

You can tell if Photoshop is running under Rosetta by going to

Applications/Adobe Photoshop 2025

right click on the

Adobe Photoshop 2025.app

click

Get Info

and if

Open using Rosetta is checked, uncheck it.

I tried that out on a whim late last night and it took care of the import problem. Good to read someone else figured that one out too.
hopefully it ll still open the created PS file after reactivating Rosetta cuz I need my plugins / extensions for work.

Hi @Mitchell32370218ztfo,

It sounds like you’re running into a frustrating issue with the image sequence import in Photoshop.

The red question mark usually indicates that Photoshop is having trouble recognizing the sequence or its format. Here are a couple of things you can try:

1. If you see a red question mark over a video layer, this typically means that Photoshop can’t find the video file associated with that layer. Close and reopen the file to trigger the relink dialog, or right-click the layer and choose Replace Footage to locate the file so Photoshop can load it properly.

2. Ensure the files are sequentially numbered and that the naming format is consistent (e.g., image001.jpg, image002.jpg). Photoshop requires a consistent pattern to recognize and import the sequence correctly.

3. Ensure that all the images in the sequence are in a supported format (JPG, PNG). Sometimes, non-standard formats or corrupted images can cause issues.

4. Try selecting the entire folder of image files instead of individual files when importing the sequence. Also, check that the option “Make Frames from Layers” is checked during import.

If you’ve tried these steps and the problem persists, please share more details, such as the file type, the operating system you’re using, the PS version, and whether the issue occurs with specific sequences or all of them.

Looking forward to your response!

Best,
