Photoshop iPad App: Brush Smoothing Control not working anymore

Problem appears on: iPad 7th Generation, iOS 17.5.1 | Apple Pencil

Problem: For ages, the opacity, smoothing, softness and size controls of the Brush Tool were working perfectly.
Now, all of a sudden, the smoothing control is set on 100%, greyed out/disabled, and I cannot make it function again.

The smoothing control of the eraser tool works fine. It’s just the one of the brush tool.

And even though it’s set on 100%, its effect is practically 0%.

Brush in use: It’s the standard Photoshop brush, nothing fancy.

Tried everything: Deleting the app, upgrading to Adobe App Subscription, downloading the Adobe CC App, updating everything... Nothing is working! 😞

Help!

Dear @Sameer K thank you so much for your fast reply.
I think, by accident, I have found the reason for the issue: I downloaded and installed the brushes from this youtuber. And ever since I installed/used them, my smoothing controls gray out.

I deleted the brushes from my brush set and from my iPad and now Photoshop and its smoothness controls are working again 🙂

Hey, @Cathrin19871999. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I'll help you figure this out.

I've tried this, but the tools are working as expected. Please record your screen & share a video of how the application behaves.

Try this in Photoshop iPad:

On the home screen, click on your profile icon > General > Reset the application to default and restart Photoshop.

Let me know how it goes. Thanks!
