Images are opened for editing directly from bridge. then editied in Photoshop. Once a an image is open in Photoshop, the application freezes . There is no notice that it is not responding.
Before going through a full uninstall and reinstall with the Cleaner tool, there are two quick fixes worth trying first that usually resolve post-update freezes when handing off files from Bridge:
1. Reset Photoshop Preferences
Preferences often get corrupted during updates, causing PS to hang when loading assets. Go to Edit > Preferences > General (or Cmd/Ctrl + K) and click Reset Preferences On Quit, then restart Photoshop.

2. Temporarily Disable Graphics Processor (GPU)
Graphic driver incompatibilities with new builds frequently freeze the UI on image load.
Go to Preferences > Performance.
Uncheck Use Graphics Processor.
Click OK and test opening an image from Bridge.
If disabling GPU fixes the freeze, simply update your GPU drivers to the latest version and re-enable it.
