Photoshop is typing backwards

Hello, I am trying to write a sentence with a period at the end. The sentence types out okay, but then photoshop adds the period at the beginning of the sentence rather than at the end of it. Any ideas what's going on? I tried to restart my computer but that didn't help. This occurs with all fonts. 

I'm on a Mac OS 10.15.7 and my photoshop is up to date.
