Photoshop lags when trying to edit the text

macbook pro 13'inch 2020.

1.4 GHz Quad-core Inter
Graphis: intel iri plus graphics 645 1536 MB

Memory 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3

macOS Ventura 13.2.1
Photoshop 23.3.0

I just reinstalled Photoshop. When trying to modify the text, it pointer circles circles and circles. I have to wait 1 min for every action on text whether I want to resize it, write a new one or anything. It is hard to work like that. Whenever I click and wish to edit the text the pointed changes to the circle and I have to wait, very often photoshop freezes.

The action I did to solve this case:
changed the RAM usage.
clicked and unclicked the use graphic processor under performance tab in settings.
Cleaned the caches, changed cache levels to 6, cache title size 1026k.
I went to General tab in setting and clicked Reset Preferences On Quit.

None of these actions helped. Maybe it has to do with rendering ? Once I saw the window :rendering something and it was half I click cancel. It didn't help but somehow saw 5% improvement on Photoshop performance in general. All other actions are fine but this text editor lags my Photoshop to the level where I can't work.

**When the text is smaller it looks like there is no problem. I am working on a tab 1920x1080 pix (300pi). Text 35 pt is working fine everything above tends to lag the Photoshop. What is the solution?

Hi @Darius_Cezar

It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.

Ohhh.. I wrote everything here exactly and the comment didn't post.
Thanks for the link : I did all the points apart from Run the FontTest.jsx script . None of them helped :(.

I do change size - when text is clicked to be edited on the top of the screen there is pt size to be put. I just change it there.

@Darius_Cezar

You may have done some of these already, but check this help page to troubleshoot typefaces in Photoshop:

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/troubleshoot-fonts-photoshop.html

Also: how are you changing the typesize? Character panel/options bar/Properties? Or Edit > Free Transform?

It shows 380 typefaces under the folder all fonts.

Hi @Darius_Cezar how many fonts do you currently have active on your Mac?
