Photoshop locks up..

Having a similar issue the last few days with PhotoShop ver 23.4.2 on Windows 10. No disk space issues, no driver issues. But, I cannot Save files from PhotoShop. The PS window just locks up, and I have to close with Task Manager and try again. Basically, I am stuck without a usable graphic software right now. Thinking of going back to last version.

@WhiteNervosa Yep I tried that. Didn't help.  One thing I did do is unistall  the 4/13/22 Windows Update. That improves things quite  bit. No crashes yesterday and no strange behavior. Only something biuzzare happened. I paused updates for 30 days and lo and behold guess what's reappearing? ANOTHER forced update and that one I can't uninstall!

Can you try unchecking "Export Clipboard" in Preferences?

A similar bug happens in Windows 11, so I wouldn't be surprised if this issue made its way to the Windows 10 clipboard.

OK. One that that may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.

Thanks for the reply. Idid the GPU chek- everything passed without issues. Drivers are always checked and updated if needed whenever I have an issue. The HD is relatively new( installed in December). So Windows 10 was freshly installed them. However, I wouldn't put it past Microsoft to send over an update that corupts the whole OS. ( been there/done that). If rolling back PS doesn't help then I may have to try resetting the PC ( sigh)

A system crash usually means a low level failure such as a driver (bad video card driver, etc), failing hardware (hard disk, video card, etc.) or damaged OS installation.

@J453 Unfortunately my version of Windows 10 does not show me the options given in the linked instructions. PS has been flickering, zooming wildly and crashing- even to the point of taking down my whole PC- since the latest update. ( crashed my PC 3 times today alone!)I've been having struggles like this for 3 years now and despite the kind efforts of folks here, nothing has ever worked. As for Adobe, they've been completely silent despite my submitting many bug reports.  I guess I'll have to try rolling back to an earlier version- again!
