Question

Photoshop menubar becomes unresponsive after Camera Raw (macOS Sequoia, Intel Mac)

Hi,

I’ve been experiencing a persistent issue with Photoshop (latest version as of June 2025) on my MacBook Pro 16" (2019, Intel) running macOS Sequoia 15.5.

Every time I open a RAW file, edit it in Camera Raw, and then open it in Photoshop, the top menubar becomes inactive. I can't click on File, Edit, or any other menu item. The only way to fix this is to completely restart Photoshop.

Steps to reproduce:

Open RAW file in Photoshop
Edit in Camera Raw
Click "Open" to continue to Photoshop
Menubar is now unresponsive
System info:

MacBook Pro 16", 2019, Intel i9, 32GB RAM
macOS Sequoia 15.5
Photoshop (latest version)
Camera Raw (latest version)
Troubleshooting attempts:

Disabled Native Canvas
Disabled GPU acceleration
Reset Camera Raw Preferences
Switched apps with Cmd+Tab
No third-party plugins installed
This issue has been going on for over 6 months now and happens frequently. Would appreciate any help or official response.

Thanks

I have 2019 MacBook Pro 16"with the same specs and macOS and don't have that issue anymore.

Can you verify both the version of Photoshop and Camera raw you have?

In Photoshop go to Help>System Info and look at the top line that says Adobe Photoshop Version and go to Photoshop 2025>About Plugins and click on Camera Raw to see the Version.

When i did have that issue switching to another Adobe application like Bridge and then back to Photoshop got the Menu Bar working again.
