photoshop not working in liquify brush tool

I upgraded all my PS versions and can't get Liquify to work, specifically the Brush Option Tools at the top. It doesn't work in both Beta and 2024 versions. The Brush Options tool is grayed out. See screenshot attached.

The rest of the Liquify tools work below it.

What version of macOS are you using?

What tool in Liquify do you have selected?

Can you post a screenshot of the whole Liquify window?

Thank you for your willingess to help.

I'm using Sonoma 14.3.1.

I figured out that I needed to click the "Forward Warp Tool" in order to get it to work.
