Photoshop Palette Popup Window Obscures work

When selecting a palette from the right-hand column of the Photoshop window, a pop-up window appears over the working image I want to apply the changes to. This is annoying as I have to disconnect the palette and drag it outside the PSD window, usually Layers and Actions, so I can see the applied results.

Otherwise, I have to apply a change and close it back into the side column, view the results, and then open it again to continue the changes. What? This is a basic function, and I'm sure Adobe has a way to make the palette panel pop up to the right side of the column leaving an unobstructed view of the working image.

So what is it?

@Sameer K  Thank you for your response! However, I know about the disclosure arrows, etc. What I need is for both the palette window and the work area to open without obstructions to view the results of selected options. So I guess there's no option for the palette window to flag out to the right away from work.

I'll just continue removing the palettes like Layers and Action from the window column and put them on the desktop.

I have plenty of questions for Bridge thumbnails- why does Bridge move the renamed files to the bottom of the window after renaming, leaving me to scroll down and search for them?

Thanks for confirming this. In Bridge, what have you set the Sort Filter to? Your description is likely due to the sorting filter being set to 'By Date Modified'.

You can set this to 'Manually' to take control of the sort behavior. Let me know if this helps.

Thanks!

Hey, @rgbnites. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I'll help you figure this out.

This is expected behavior for fly-out menus. You can click on the little arrow at the top corner of your list of Panels, it is currently set to Collapse to icons.

This should help:

Let me know if this helps. Thanks!
