Photoshop Pen Tool Bezier Problem with Wacom

When I'm using the pen tool in Photoshop, I want to click and drag the point to create a curved path. When I use my mouse to do this, as soon as I begin to drag the bezier handles appear as expected and the line curves.

If I use my Wacom pen to do this, I click, then drag, but I have to drag it a considerable distance from the point before the bezier handles will appear. Same project and path, if I reach over and use my mouse the behavior is as I would expect it.

Is there a setting I'm missing with the Wacom pen that would cause this?

I'm using Windows 10, Photoshop CC 20.0.2, and Wacam Intuous Pro L. All video and Wacom drivers are up to date.

I solved this, if anyone else runs into the same problem. After going around in circles with Wacom tech support it turns out to just be a simple checkbox:

  • Go to Wacom Tablet Properties
  • Select the Pen Tool
  • In the Mapping panel at the bottom is a checkbox to "Use Windows Ink"
  • Turn it off (unchecked)

That fixed it for me, hope that helps.
