Question

Photoshop saving problem on MACOS Catalina - URGENT HELP PLEASE

I have recently purchased an iMac to do photoshop. Its on the newest version of Catalina.

The problem: When I try to save a TIF file, sometimes the saving process on the bottom left gets stuck (usually on 22%) and freezes there. I can still edit the image but it won't save no matter how many hours I wait. I have lost so many good photos and its getting frustrating. The only way out of that situation is to force close photoshop, after whichi I won't be able to open it. Thus need to restart. After restart when I open the photoshop I can't open that image anymore as its says the file is broken.

What should I do?

same problem here. when opening a psd file and saving it again, photoshop crashes and the file gets corrupt. very frustrating! the only solution for me is going back to an older version of photoshop and stick with this until there's a fix for this..

So, Illuki, are you saying you tried Adobe's new fix, and that it didn't work for you?

Anyway it's impossible to go back to an older version of Photoshop on Catalina.

Anyway of saving the tiff as psd or psb before starting your edits?  See if that works.

Photoshop CC 2019 has not yet been certified by Adobe to run on Catalina.

Thanks for your reply. I tried to save with PSD but faced the same problem again.

First try resetting preferences:

If tthat does not work,

Try uninstalling/reinstalling Photoshop CC 2019 (20.0.6) via the CC Desktop app.

Good Luck,
