Photoshop Showing Color Blocks on Images When Editing Large Files

When I'm working with files, I keep getting these color blocks that pop up on the image. It gets REALLY bad when I'm working with large files. My graphics card is up to date, all PS updates are installed...I'm at a loss of what could be going on.

Check if there's a update for your graphic device driver is available. If yes, download and install the update. Then check.

If this doesn't help, try to disable the option to "Use Graphics Procesor" from Photoshop by going to Preferences, then Performance. Once done, quit & relaunch Photoshop to check if that helps.

Another try is to enable the Older GPU Mode option in "Preferences" > "Technology Previews" > "Use Older GPU Mode (pre 2016)".

Unfortunately you haven't given us any information about your system. Therefore, all proposed solutions are a look into the crystal ball.

But it seems as @CMass wrote, this is a issue with your graphic device or the appropriate driver.

Is your system up-to-date? Do you have installed all recent updates and patches for the operating system and the device drivers, especially the graphic driver. If you have a NVidia graphic card installed, make sure that you are using the recent Studio version of the driver, not the Game Ready version.

Please provide a copy of your 'System Info'. This can be get from the Photoshop menu item Help > System Info. There's a copy button in the System Info dialog. Press this button and paste the info into your next forum post.

Check if you have buldin a CPU with an internal graphic processor. This internal GPU can sometimes caused several issues. Try to disable the processor internal graphic card.

Open the Windows Device Manager, right-click the card's name and choose Disable.

Check if there's a update for your graphic device driver is available. If yes, download and install the update. Then check.

If this doesn't help, try to disable the option to "Use Graphics Procesor" from Photoshop by going to Preferences, then Performance. Once done, quit & relaunch Photoshop to check if that helps.

Another try is to enable the Older GPU Mode option in "Preferences" > "Technology Previews" > "Use Older GPU Mode (pre 2016)".
