Question

Photoshop won't launch on Windows 11.

I tried everything I could.
Run it as administrator.
Reinstalled it several times.
Cleared the TEMP folder.
Updated the video card drivers.

And it still won't start.

I click Run, a blue circle appears next to my mouse, and then nothing happens. Nothing at all.
The program appears in the Task Manager in the background, and all I can do is end the process.

Hey, @VADDUUMM. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I'll need more information to help you figure this out.

For now, try these to manually recreate the MSVC++ Libraries:

  • In the Creative Cloud app, press CTRL + ALT + T (Win) to launch Creative Cloud Troubleshooter & select 'Close Creative Cloud and related processes' > click on Go.
  • Go to 'Add or Remove programs' in Windows search & find all the installations of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (all years).

  • Uninstall them completely. Even if there is an option to repair them, please uninstall all the existing MSVC++ packages.
  • Download a fresh package of installers for MSVC++ from this link: https://adobe.ly/46yf80d
  • Right-click the downloaded file and select Extract All.
  • Reinstall all packages (X86 & x64) one by one & then restart the computer once.

If this does not help, try booting the Windows device in Safe Mode with networking to check how Photoshop behaves: https://adobe.ly/43BzvZ3

Here is a slightly older conversation where another user did an experimental step that helped: https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-discussions/photoshop-not-opening-process-runs-in-background/td-p/15481598

Let me know how it goes. Thanks!
