PNG exporting with Black Background instead of a transparent background

This same issue is driving me NUTS - I know how to use Photoshop - Used it for years - something changed… I can’t get a transparent box on export of PNG!!!

    You should probably share exactly how you’re exporting? And all the other relevant details too...

    Hi ​@ClarkeLSmith , you had posted to a very old thread so I’ve branched this into a new conversation.

    Please let us know the version of Photoshop you’re using along with your computer’s operating system. Also, please go to the Image Menu, then Mode, and check if the image is set to RGB color or Indexed color. 

    Try setting the image to 8-bits/channel and RGB color under Image, then Mode, and then try to export the file.
