Possible Bug or Glitch in Photoshop - Immediate Attention Needed

Hello Photoshop Community,

I’ve recently encountered a strange issue where Photoshop unexpectedly crashes or behaves unpredictably when performing [specific task or action]. It seems like a bug or glitch that might be affecting other users as well.

Has anyone else experienced this? I recommend saving your work frequently and possibly updating to the latest version of Photoshop to see if the issue resolves.

Hopefully, Adobe can address this soon!

Best regards,

Crashing is nearly always the GPU / driver. This can happen in a new PS version, with new application code that calls new functions in the GPU.

If you post the full Help > System Info from Photoshop, we might be able to spot something.

Hey, @finlay_7586. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I'll need more information to help you figure this out. Please share the system information from Photoshop Help > System info > Copy and paste into a text document > Upload and attach here.

I couldn't find crash reports submitted with the account you've signed in to the community with. If you see a crash dialogue, submit it with your Adobe ID. Check here for more steps: https://adobe.ly/3Wpjx0B

Also, have you tried using Photoshop (beta)? You can go to Creative Cloud > Apps section > Beta Apps tab.

Try these steps to get Photoshop to behave as expected:

  • Do you use any plugins? If yes, try and hold the shift key when launching Photoshop to skip loading any plugins.
  • Try booting the Windows device in Safe Mode with networking to check how Photoshop behaves: https://adobe.ly/43BzvZ3

Let me know how it goes. Thanks!

Hi @Sameer K,

Thanks for the quick response!

I've gone ahead and attached the full system info from Photoshop as requested. Let me know if anything stands out there.

I haven’t seen a crash dialog so far, but I’ll keep an eye out and make sure to submit any future reports with my Adobe ID if it happens again.

I also gave Photoshop (Beta) a try—same behavior unfortunately.

As for plugins, yes, I do use a couple. I tried launching Photoshop with the Shift key held down to disable them, but the issue still persists.

I'll try booting into Safe Mode with networking next and report back on how it behaves in that environment.

Appreciate your help so far—thank you!

Best,
@finlay_7586
