Posts/Threads Missing From Community

I am noticing lately that many posts/threads that I follow on the Adobe Community website (Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator ecosystems) have been removed. When I click on a link from Google or from an email I’ve received from Adobe regarding a new post to a topic I follow, it just sends me to this Welcome page (https://community.adobe.com/community#M131238) and there is no way to access the thread. Why is Adobe removing community posts, isn’t the purpose of this site to help and get help from other users?

This thread in general is one that I am following, as it is a recent Ps bug that has not yet been fixed, and the link just goes to the welcome page: https://nam11.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fcommunity.adobe.com%2Ft5%2Fphotoshop-ecosystem-bugs%2Fp-ps-27-1-launch-error-could-not-apply-the-saved-panel-configuration-resetting-to-default%2Fidc-p%2F15662958%23M131238&data=05%7C02%7CTLANGSTON%40BJMWEB.COM%7Cdaa3bf90065544cbdfc708de5372224f%7Cda061965b74247039a5df332dc17cf8a%7C0%7C0%7C639039946839615889%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=NUwLlBtss9v0x%2BZvO1y4TAwOTsSDcSEJEuzMbHUptm4%3D&reserved=0)

This is very frustrating as I have been coming here for years to find answers and workarounds to the constant bugs Adobe introduces with each update. Is Adobe just deleting bug reports and community threads that THEY personally feel are unimportant?

I’m glad that helps, @troyjack!

I understand your frustration, and there is no reason for you to be a forum expert when you just have a question about Photoshop. The Community Expert volunteers are on the forums frequently and are happy to help whether you have a question about the apps or the forum interface itself.

For my part, I’m not sure that Adobe will ever send out emails for forum announcements because many Adobe subscribers never use the forums. In addition, some users posted one question many years ago and have never been back. I don’t speak for Adobe on this issue, as we don’t know what they will do in the future — this is my opinion only.

I also use Google searches. You probably already know this, but stay away from the AI generated responses, as they are often flatout wrong or have obsolete information. If you can’t find the answer from a legitimate site, you can always ask here.

Hi troyjack,

Adobe isn't deleting those posts. What happens is moderators merge duplicate bug threads (like the 27.1 launch error) into a single Master Tracking Thread for the engineering team.

Unfortunately, the forum software often breaks the original link during a merge, which is why your bookmark dumps you on the Welcome page instead of redirecting.

Your thread wasn't deleted; it was just merged. Check the pinned posts in the Photoshop bugs forum to find the official tracking thread, or let me know if you want me to fetch the direct link for you!

@troyjack

Here’s the primary thread I think you are looking for:

If that’s not it, can you let us know?

You might also try your homepage, which you can get to by clicking the Bell in the upper right of the forums, or by using this link:

https://community.adobe.com/members/troyjack-1155620

I just went there, and saw three posts at first. You have to click Topics or Replies to see more. Clicking Solved will display the three that are solved.

We are all getting used to the new forum software. I’m slightly curious as to why the link you gave us starts with “outlook.com” instead of “community.adobe.com”. Maybe it’s because you get automatic email notifications for posts? I’ve turned them off and just use the Bell.

If you don’t see your recent post, please post again in the thread I linked to above.

Jane

Thank you, Jane, this helps. Yes, I get emails from posts that I follow and then I’ll click the link from the email to view the thread, which is why I hadn’t seen the announcement on the homepage, and that link was indeed from one of the emails which would explain the Outlook part. I was confused as to why every email notification link I clicked directed me to a “welcome” page instead of the thread I intended to view.

I work at a very time-managed agency and unfortunately don’t have a lot of time to explore the forum, usually I use google search for solutions, workarounds, etc and am brought directly to a thread (among other forums such as reddit, stack exchange, etc.) which bypasses the forum homepage. I honestly didn’t know there was a homepage to the forum that featured important announcements such as this, I assumed those would come in the form of an email or a notification within the CC app. Hopefully that helps explain where my frustration was coming from.

Also, a lot of posts will be moved from “Bugs” to “Discussions”, because they turn out to be a) hardware issues outside Photoshop, b) corrupt preferences, or c) misunderstanding how the application is designed to work.

When moved, the original link goes dead.

This no doubt upsets many posters, but it’s important to reserve the “Bugs” subsection for actual real bugs, so that they can get the proper attention and not drown in noise.

Thank you for sharing, good to know.

Hopefully Adobe will send an email announcement to users next time they do something like this.

Did you noticed that the forums just moved to a new backend? Adobe posted that older threads would be available immediately but newer ones would take a bit to restore. They are still working out the new system as well. Be patient.

No I did not know, thank you. I never received a notification from Adobe that this was taking place.

There was a notification on the main forums pages for about a month prior to the upgrade, Adobe didn’t send out email notifications.
