Printer profiles missing from dialogue drop-down box in Photoshop 2024.

I recently updated Photoshop 2024 to version 25.9.1 on my M3 Mac running Sonoma 14.6.1. All my Canon printer profiles are now missing from the drop-down dialogue box. They are located in Library/ColorSync/Profiles. How do I get them to appear in the dialogue box?

Any help appreciated.

Hey, Richard! I'll move this thread to Photoshop Ecosystem Community as this issue is related to Photoshop.

Please try these steps and let us know if helped.

1. You can try the troubleshooting steps mentioned here: https://adobe.ly/3Xe2775

2. Download Canon and install the relevant Canon printer driver software.

3. That process normally installs the needed ICC media profiles.

4. Look right through the [Print: "Photoshop Manages Color"] pull down profile list

Note that when you "add" the printer in System Preferences, do not select (under "use" )the Airprint option if you see it there.

@sprinklr-integration-user that’s right - great answer - a good way to fix this is pretty likely to be reinstalling the Canon driver which will reinstall the Canon ICC profiles. (downloaded online, not installed [added] from within MacOS. )

After reinstalling the Canon driver, it's good to restart the Mac
Also to avoid checking Airprint when "adding" the printer. See below

@Richard Malpas I too recommend you do not select "Airprint"

go to Canon online and download the printer drivers yourself and install.

Do not let the Mac install the printer driver for you.

In System Preferences / Printers - - - , when adding the connected printer

[i.e. click the padlock, enter your password and click the “+” button]

There under "use" do not select "Airprint", but, rather, manually set "use” to the printer name, which will then call on the manufacturer’s own software rather than the default Apple driver (that’s based on Gimp Print / Gutenprint, which misses out some printing options such as specific manufacturers media names).
