Printing white text on colored paper

I feel really silly asking this and I know it's something that I'm missing but I can't seem to get white text to print on colored paper. I've searched in several places but can't find a solution. I would greatly appreciate and help in solving this problem.

Thanks in advance.

But get a sample ON THE DAY. The coverage could (or will) be awful. And tell them you won't pay unless the coverage matches the sample (that you're happy with). I've seen some ocean scenes passed off as solid ink by salesmen, techs and tired operators...

Neil, you and Ed are right. If you want to print 50 or 100 (or more), then Kinkos or Lazerquick will do it a lot cheaper than your ink jet. Ink jets were not made to do large batches of printing, or at least mine are not.

However, WR wanted to put white text on a colored background and there is a fairly easy way to do it using Photoshop or Photo Elements 6. Hopefully, we gave him some useful ideas!

    Re: Ed's comment...

If you're running a lot of 'em, you may find it more economical to let a quick-print shop (such as Kinko's) print them.

Uses a lot of ink though...especially if you're printing a lot of them.

A canvas can be made the same size as the paper you are printing on. The canvas can be colored with the paint bucket. The picture as a background can be made almost invisible (or you can use more than one picture). The text can be enhanced with layer style and drop shadow, and again, the text can be white or any color you want - then print it with an inkjet borderless. I have done this several times. As usual, Ann pointed out the best solution.

    wr,

Remember that your desktop printer doesn't have white or metallic inks or pigments. You need to go to outside service providers for this and other special printing techniques.

(Or use Ann's suggestion for white.)

    Ann, you're a copier tech's worst nightmare!

But you COULD print a colored background onto WHITE paper and leave the type "knocked-out" so that you see the type as white.

To print white on something colored you need to use opaque white ink or paint silk screen would be the way to go.

You can't print white on colored paper with an inkjet.
