Problem: Eraser Tool Doesn't Work Across the Entire Brush Area in Photoshop
Hi, I’m experiencing an issue in Photoshop where the Eraser Tool (E) doesn’t erase immediately across the entire brush area. I’m using a hard round brush, but the erasing effect only starts when the center of the cursor gets closer to the area I want to erase. This makes it difficult to work accurately since I want to see the effect immediately rather than guessing.
What I Have Tried So Far:
- Checked Brush Settings: I’m using a hard round brush, with Spacing set to low (0–10%) and Smoothing disabled.
- Checked Cursor Settings: I selected Precise Cursor and enabled Show Crosshair in Brush Tip.
- Disabled GPU Acceleration: I turned off "Use Graphics Processor" in Performance settings, but it didn’t fix the issue.
- Reset the Eraser Tool: I used "Reset Tool", but the problem persists.
- Reset Photoshop Preferences: I restarted Photoshop while holding Ctrl+Alt+Shift to reset preferences, but the issue remains.
- Tested on Different Devices: The problem occurs with both a mouse and a graphics tablet.
I’ve tried different brush sizes and layers, but the issue is still present. Has anyone encountered this before, and is there a solution?
Thanks in advance for your help! 😊
