Problem opening some jpeg files

I get this error message:

Could not open “Bar-bellied Pitta Ken Behrens.jpg” because a JPEG marker segment length is too short (the file may be truncated or incomplete).

These same filesa open on my froends computers with the same version of Photoshop.

Interesting error, Sam, that you could open the file on another machine.

Please let us know if the simple act of opening and saving the misbehaving file in Apple Preview (the video was for Win and MS Paint) for Dinesh's "unknown or invalid JPEG marker type is found" error solves your "JPEG marker segment length is too short" error.

Where are the files saved? Did you receive the files from someone or downloaded them? If yes, try downloading the files again to a different location (probably to the desktop) and then try opening them again.
