problem w Photoshop, stylus and brush not in sync

Hi there, using MacOS Monterey version 12.7.6 and Photoshop 24.0 (i think is self-updated earlier) and up until today when i went to use the paintbrush im finding the movement of the stylus and marks made on the screen are not in sync. If i were to paint a freestyle black line w my stylus the black line istelf would appear a few seconds after id already lifted stylus up to continue w the image.

Anyone know whats causing this?
