Question

Problem when using Apple trackpad & mouse together

This is hard to explain but I hope someone can help.

For years now I've been working on Photoshop using my trackpad with my left hand to move the cursor, and my right hand on my mouse to click and release. Now for some reason when doing this, after i lift my finger off the mouse, the selection stays clicked and wont release until i click my mouse again. This happens in all parts of Photoshop, when airbrushing, changing brush size, in liquify, etc.

I've included a video to give an example, I've just updated to the latest version of PS and it didn't fix the issue. I'm on macOS Sequoia 15.6, and tried resetting tools to defualt. Using apple trackpad & mouse as well.

If you have any previous Photoshop versions like Photoshop 2024 installed, does the same occur with them?

Have you tried a different mouse, particularly a wired mouse to see if there's any difference?

Resetting the Photoshop preferences would be something else to try:

I just tried a mouse that plugs in and it doesn't happen with that one, so i'm thinking maybe it has something to do with my apple mouse settings?
