Problem with generative fill

Generative fill seems to be unavailable on Photoshop. It's greyed out in the Edit menu and I can't use it from the contextual taskbar.

Correct answer creative explorer

@jshakoor did you not make a selection? Typically you need to have a selection made with one of Photoshop's selection tools to activate Generative Fill. If it's greyed out, it means Photoshop doesn't detect a valid selection

If the previous posters should not have solved the issue already please post screenshots with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Options Bar, Contextual Task Bar, …) visible.

The problem has been resolved.

I should have said that sooner. Sorry about that.

Thanks a lot.

Also check the bit depth—Gen Fill appears to be unavailable in 32-bit mode.

This seems to havesolved the problem. Generative Fill was enabled as soon as I made a selection.

Silly of me I should have known that!

Thank you very much.
