Problem with reversing clipping path in photoshop

Hi guys, I have a problem, because I don’t know how it happened, but after drawing an object with the Pen Tool and turning it into a clipping path, it selected and cut out the area around the object instead of the object itself. I’ve been looking everywhere for a solution, but I don’t know what to do. Also, I’m working on Windows. Could someone help me?"

Hi,

It sounds like the clipping path may have been created in the wrong direction or Photoshop is treating the path as an exclusion rather than the object itself.

Try opening the Paths panel and check which path is selected. Then choose Make Selection from the path options and see whether the object or the background gets selected. If the background is selected instead, simply go to Select > Inverse to switch the selection to the object.

You can also check the Path Operations setting while using the Pen Tool. If it's set to Subtract Front Shape or another exclusion mode, Photoshop may cut out the opposite area. Changing it to Combine Shapes usually fixes the issue.

If possible, upload a screenshot of your Paths panel and the clipping path settings. That would make it easier to identify exactly what's causing the problem.

Hope that helps!
