Problem with the file, corrupted file. Can it be recovered?

HiI was working on project and my screen went black and everything froze. I turned it off and on. When I wanted to open the file again, it now looks like this, everything has been deleted and there is only this glitch. Can anything be done about it? recover the file and what was it?

There are programs/websites dedicated to salvaging damaged psd files (try googling »photoshop repair damaged files« for example) but if the file opened without problems, alas in that state, I doubt there is much to be done …

Do you have a back-up sytem in place where you might locate at least a previous state of the file?
