PS 2026 on Windows - "Can't write new document presets file" message at closing

That's right, I'm incredibly frustrated with this issue. Especially the Javascript was missing error. I've tried remote support, and after initially fixing it, it worked, then a few moments later, the same thing happened again. I've tried everything—removing Malwarebytes, reinstalling Windows, reinstalling PS, and reinstalling Creative Cloud. Everything has failed, and it's seriously disrupting my work. I've been a long-time subscriber to this Adobe product, but this software is frustrating. I'll consider discontinuing the service if I don't find a solution.

Hey, @Zoel.Go. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I’ve promoted your comment from the previous thread to a new conversation. Please share the system info from Photoshop Help > System info > Copy and paste into a text document > Upload and attach here.

Do you have OneDrive or any backup service installed on this machine? Is Photoshop installed on a different drive than the C drive?

    Awaiting hearing from you. Thanks!

I have OneDrive. I installed it on drive C. I just reinstalled Adobe Photoshop, and I don't know how many times, and I'm still having the same problem. Please help me. I'm very frustrated. The following problems arise:
    - When exporting an artboard file, I get the error "Javascript was missing."
    - When exporting as, the same error occurs.
    - Sometimes the background removal bar disappears, even though the window: contextual taskbar is active.
I've experienced this repeatedly. The solutions I've tried with Adobe technicians are:
    - Downgrading to version 27.0.1
    - Deleting with the Adobe removal tool and reinstalling Creative Cloud and Photoshop.
    - Deleting the appdata folder > C:\Users\...\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2026\Adobe Photoshop 2026 Settings
However, the problem still reappears after 1-2 days of use.

Note: I've also cleared my hard drive.

Thanks for sharing the additional issues and system info. The safe version of system info does not serve the purpose in this context.

Are you using any 3rd-party scripts or plugins? Where are the source documents being stored? Is this a personal or an IT-managed machine?

Here are two things you can try:

1 - Boot the machine in Safe Mode with Networking: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-startup-settings-1af6ec8c-4d4a-4b23-adb7-e76eef0b847f
2 - Hold the Shift key while launching Photoshop to skip loading any 3rd party plugins.

3 - If none of the troubleshooting steps above solve your problem, your problem may be related to user permissions. Please follow the steps here - https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/create-local-administrator-account-windows.html

Let me know how it goes. Thanks!
