PS 24.0.1 error message Could not complete the Crystallize command because there is not enough RAM

Hi. I just did an update to 24.0.1 and was using the crystalize commend to blur snow effect.  It will not let me complete this task.  I get this pop up message "Could not complete the Crystallize command because there is not enough memory (RAM).".  Is this a bug with the update.  I have checked my PS preference on my MAC and I am at the upper limit for the acceptable RAM to be used with PS.  Can someone please help me get past this?  Thanks.

I have the same issue,  did you find a solution to the problem?

Me too despite the fact i have 1.5 TB ram.  Also, like the other poster, making snow in a similar way.  Rasterizing the layer did not help the problem.

Pulling the rasterized layer onto a new document did not fix the problem either.

Hi @jodyk4407696 I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're having. The Crystallize filter works fine and fast for me (Windows 10, Photoshop 24.0.1 Release). How much RAM do you have? 16GB or more? What type of layer are you running the Crystallize command on? Did you convert it to a smart object? I did a very quick test and didn't have any problems. Can you show us your settings? If you revert to Photoshop 24.0.0, do you have the same problem?

I'm back to add something interesting. Before posting this screenshot, I saved a copy of the file on my desktop, so I could upload it here. After posting, I went back to the open image in Photoshop to save and move it to another folder. This is the error message returned. I had to save it as a PSB file.

On opening the 2GB PSB file, this is the image size:

I had no problem exporting it via Legacy Save for Web at 1920 pixels wide.

I have the same exact issue. Did you find a solution to the problem?

What size is the image in terms of pixel dimensions?

You can try reseting the photoshop preferences by going to Photoshop>Preferences>General, clicking Reset Preferences On Quit and restarting photoshop.

Thanks I have tried this and will see if it eliminates the issue.
